Some of you are aware that all our backpackers got taken away and put in hotel quarantine on December 24th 2021. For a lot of people who have stayed at the OFS over Christmas & NY knows just how special that time of year really is when you stay with us.
We're sorry this happened to you all but we all made a full and supercharged comeback! Having you all come home with those bright smiles will stick with us forever!

This is the day you all came home to us, it will forever be a memorable experience and a feeling like no other!

To our beautiful beloved backpackers of the OFS!

We want to extend our heartfelt prayers and gratitude to you all. What a 24 hours it us been.
Firstly we would like to say thank you to all for being patient with us, we can’t comprehend how this has affected you all.
We hear you all when you say you have not been provided with adequate food for your dietary requirements or support through this difficult time. We’re shocked that we have been so unsupported by our government and left to deal with this on our own, deciding ourself to go into a lockdown when we found out we had a guest with COVID. We’re sorry you were put at risk. We cannot wait to see your faces walking out of that hotel and taking your first few breaths of fresh air.
We tried all day and our very best to keep you all together in the OFS to isolate but the decision was made by WA Health to move you and we were unable to change that decision.
It’s broke my heart standing up there on Xmas Eve, seeing all of your beautiful faces telling you it’s time to pack your belongings. You were stubborn, fearless but understanding and we admire your ability to stick together through trying times.
The Old Fire Station Backpackers will support you all with what we can. They may seperate us, but they will not stop us from coming back even stronger..with a party to remember. We will be waiting for you
